Comparison of Different Capacity Glue Feeding Systems for GDS Three-Axis Glue Dispensing Machines

2026-01-12

GDS offers a variety of three-axis glue dispensing machines with different working strokes for customers to choose from. Depending on the characteristics of the customer’s products and their process requirements, they can select the most suitable three-axis glue dispensing machine for their application.

Desktop-Type Three-Axis Dispensing Machine

The desktop-type three-axis dispensing machine features a countertop design and needs to be placed separately on a work platform. It has a small working stroke, and the product is positioned on a moving Y-axis platform. This model is ideal for automated glue dispensing of relatively small, lightweight products that are easy to pick up and place.

Floor-Standing Three-Axis Dispensing Machine

The floor-standing three-axis dispensing machine offers adjustable working stroke sizes, with platforms available in dimensions ranging from 600×600 mm to 1500×600 mm. It boasts a larger operating platform and an open-design layout, making it convenient for workers to load and unload products. This machine is highly versatile and can handle products of various sizes. There’s no need to set up an additional countertop to accommodate the machine, which simplifies workshop planning.

Glue Feeding System Considerations

In addition to the working stroke and platform selection, another key factor to consider when choosing a three-axis dispensing machine is the glue feeding system. The GDS three-axis glue dispensing machine is typically equipped with a single-component adhesive supply system. Depending on the common packaging capacities of single-component adhesives available on the market, there are various options for the adhesive supply buckets used with these machines. Common single-component silicone adhesive packages include small-volume 300ml containers, large-volume 2600ml containers, and extra-large five-gallon supply buckets.

300ml Pressure-Fed Adhesive Bucket

The 300ml pressure-fed adhesive bucket is suitable for products that require small amounts of adhesive; one container of adhesive can meet production demands for an extended period without frequent refills, making it convenient for operators to use. Additionally, the shorter adhesive delivery lines significantly enhance the automatic dispensing process, especially when working with thicker adhesives.

2600ml Single-Component Adhesive Package

The 2600ml single-component adhesive package offers more than eight times the capacity of the 300ml container, making it ideal for automated dispensing applications where larger quantities of adhesive are required per unit, thus reducing the frequency of adhesive changes. Moreover, larger-packaged adhesives offer cost advantages. However, compared to the 300ml supply buckets, machines equipped with 2600ml supply buckets tend to have higher initial costs.

Five-Gallon Supply System with Pressurized Gear Pump

In addition to these two common supply systems, there’s also a five-gallon supply system featuring a pressurized gear pump. This system is particularly well-suited for applications involving high adhesive consumption, relatively viscous adhesives, and situations where customers have stringent requirements for dispensing speed—such as in the manufacturing of air conditioners or large ovens and baking equipment. Of course, this pressurized supply system with a gear pump comes at a higher cost, so when selecting such a system, it’s important to carefully consider whether the enhanced features are truly necessary. The three types of glue dispensing systems from GDS are shown in the figure below; the specific configuration will vary depending on the structure of the three-axis dispensing machine.
